Pictures and Memories

Three painters from Bosnia and Herzegovina

Behaudin Selmanović/ Seid Hasanefendić/ Salim Obralić

Online exhibition, June - August 2021

This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of three Bosnian artists whose art is deeply immersed in the rich spiritual, symbolic and aesthetic heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a culture that represents the experience of meeting between the Orient and the Occident.
The cognitive and creative journey of each of them has not lost anything of its homeland and yet it looks modern and new. It is a successful blend of tradition and modernity. Their work is characterized by a thoughtful internal order of the image, clear symbolic and visual signs, sophistication of color harmonies, and sensitivity created as an expression of the deep experience of their homeland, the country of Bosnia, its spirituality and culture.
And regardless of the different cultural traditions (in Zagreb and Belgrade) that they came in contact with while studying - Bosnia remained an experience, a link and a starting point.
